Gustosa Foods — Global E-Commerce
DG10 built a global e-commerce platform for Gustosa Foods with multi-currency support, international shipping zones, customs documentation, and a detailed product catalog for food products sold worldwide.
Building a Food Brand That Ships Worldwide
Gustosa Foods makes food products that people outside India want to buy. The challenge was not making the food. It was building an e-commerce platform that handles the complexity of selling food internationally. Different countries have different shipping rules, different currencies, different payment preferences, and different expectations for product information. We built a platform that handles all of it.
The E-Commerce Platform
We built Gustosa store on WooCommerce. Flexible enough to handle international requirements, reliable enough for a business that needs to process orders daily. The platform includes:
- Product catalog: Each product has detailed descriptions, ingredient lists, nutritional information, allergen warnings, and high-quality photos. Food buyers need this information. They are putting something in their body, not just buying a gadget.
- Multi-currency support: Prices display in the customer local currency. The system handles conversion automatically, so a customer in the US sees prices in dollars while a customer in the UK sees pounds. No confusion at checkout.
- International shipping: Shipping rates are calculated based on destination, weight, and dimensions. The system integrates with multiple carriers to get the best rates for each region. Customs and duties information is displayed before checkout so customers know the full cost.
International Shipping Challenges
Shipping food internationally is harder than shipping most products. Some countries restrict certain food imports. Packaging has to protect perishable items during long transit times. Customs documentation has to be accurate. We worked with Gustosa to set up shipping zones. Regions where they can ship, shipping methods available in each zone, and any restrictions that apply. The checkout process shows estimated delivery times and any additional customs costs, so there are no surprises.
The Product Catalog
Food e-commerce lives and dies by product presentation. We built a catalog that handles multiple product variations. Different sizes, bundle offers, and seasonal items. Each product page includes ingredient sourcing information, storage instructions, and suggested uses. The search and filter system lets customers find products by type, dietary requirement, or cuisine. For a food brand going global, the website has to do the work that a salesperson would do in a physical store. Explain the product, answer questions, and make buying easy.
